National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

On Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Citrus Heights Police

Department will once again partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in the

4th Annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.

The purpose of this event is to provide a venue for the public to dispose of dangerous, expired,
unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. This service is free and anonymous. Bring your
medications for disposal to the front lobby of the Citrus Heights Police Department located at
6315 Fountain Square Drive, Citrus Heights, California.

The Citrus Heights Police Department participated in this same initiative last October which was
an overwhelming success. Last October, Americans turned in 377,080 pounds (188.5 tons) of
prescription drugs at over 5,300 sites operated by the DEA and nearly 4,000 state and local law
enforcement partners. In the three previous Take-Back events, DEA and its partners took in
almost one million pounds (nearly 500 tons) of pills.
We invite the public to help us in our effort to address this important public safety and health
concern. The Citrus Heights Police Department will have a "no questions asked" anonymous
drop-off location in the front lobby of the Citrus Heights Police Department located at 6315
Fountain Square Drive, Citrus Heights, California.

Van Ford

Just a note as this time to let you know about a very sad event.........

Mr. Van Ford passed away around the end of August, beginning of September.  Van was 87 years old.

Unfortunately I do not have any other information than that. Van was a very active resident of Citrus Heights, helping in the creation of the 11 Neighborhoods of Citrus Heights and forming Sunrise Ranch Neighborhood AREA#6. He was an active participant in Area #6. He will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his bride, Betty and their family.
