Citrus Heights General Plan Update & Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan

The City of Citrus Heights has scheduled the final public hearings on the City’s General Plan Update and Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.

The project includes a focused update of the Citrus Heights General Plan in the areas of sustainability, mobility/complete streets, and water quality/flooding. The project also includes adoption of the City’s first Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan. 

Environmental Determination: A Final Environmental Impact Report has been prepared and will be considered for certification at the public hearings. A Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program has also been prepared.

Meeting Purpose:  The City Council will review a resolution that would certify the Final Environmental Impact Report, adopt the Mitigation Monitoring Program, adopt the focused update to the General Plan, and adopt the City’s first Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.

Documents will be available at City Hall or on the General Plan Project website at www.chgpupdate.net after 5:00 pm on Friday, June 22nd

Possible "Community Meeting Center"

Currently there is a need in the Citrus Heights community for a flexible meeting space for local service clubs, resident groups and non-profits. The City is proposing to construct a small neighborhood center at 7521 Community Drive, the former Lions Clubhouse site, at the intersection of Sylvan Road and Community Drive. You are invited to attend a community meeting to provide input on the center's design and function.
